Hand Drawn Animation
In this workshop students will learn the fundamentals of hand drawn animation; first creating a basic animation using resources and a set procedure in order to learn the principles of keyframes and tweens. In the second part, students work in groups (so that collaborative production can be experienced) to create an animation of their own design.
Allow at least 1hr 30mins for the first part of the workshop (this includes producing the animation sequence in digital form - we used movie maker but any video software would do) and approx 2hrs for the group piece. It is important to ensure that the process is clear before proceeding to the group work - the 2hrs included 30mins of discussion and collaborative planning to ensure that the idea would work.
We used A4 copier paper - with each student having 5 sheets plus a photocopy of the starter_sheet (download opposite).
Digital cameras/card readers were used to get the images onto the computer
